As our regular users have been informed, Cannich Hall has revised its hire charges as of 01.02.26.  Our hire charges had not changed since early 2018 despite the large increase over the same period in energy bills, maintenance costs and materials.  We are in a position where our annual hall income is not covering the hall’s running costs.  The decision to increase rates is to try and ensure the longevity of our hall, a much loved community asset.  

While revising the charges we have sought to ensure Community Group rates stay as low as possible, with Strathglass groups being able to book at the lowest rate possible.  We have kept discounted rates for regular Community Group users (7+ bookings).  We have introduced new rates for Non-Profit Organisations, Highland Council, Public Bodies and 2 tiers of Commercial rates.  We have also introduced 2 different rates for hire of the kitchen – one for light use (ie. Teas / Coffees) and one for heavy use (ie. Cooking / Catering). When booking the hall via Hallmaster,  just select the Price Rate that applies to you/your group from the drop down menu. 

We hope that through this more differentiated approach to how we charge for use of the hall we can increase revenue while still ensuring cost accessibility for local and neighbouring community groups.
